Nice location, steps from the beach. Friendly staff w/ a well-kept layout. They only had 2 of their own brews on tap. Seemed oddly low for a bar calling itself a brewery. They do have a good amount of other craft beers & wines to choose from however. I tried both of their brews (both IPA's - one Imperial, one Black). Star Ruby is brewed utilizing local grapefruit and definitely worth a try. Definitely not the West-Coast style I prefer, but good nonetheless. I also would've preferred it served in a pint glass, not the snifter - it's a bit pretentious. They also offer a few reasonably priced 'tapas' but we did not try the food. OIB is still relatively new (Fall '14) as I write this review so it may draw a bigger crowd & expand their offerings (brews, food, entertainment, etc.) as it progresses.

You can totally tell that the brewmasters take pride in their work when you take a sip. With attention to the local citrus crops, their IPAs are a lot more refreshing than the usual pour. We had only planned on stopping in for 1 drink, but after talking to Jim and Chef Ed for a bit, 3 hours flew by!

My husband enjoyed the 1 and only IPA they had while I had a glass of wine. We each only had the 1 drink because after an hour of being there the wait staff was non- existent. Oh wait, we did see 3 guys behind the bar drinking their beers so I guess the key to getting a drink is working there. It wasn't even that crowded so I can't imagine how difficult it is to get a drink when it is. Many other places in town to go where you will be welcomed and taken care of so for that reason we won't be back.

A great atmosphere with engaging staff and a cool mixture of beers that they create on a regular basis. I have had a couple where the bartender walked to the where they were brewing to grab them. I also had the veggie sandwich which was solid and really tasty. The mixture of the beers they create with excellent choices of other brewers make it a place to not visit just once, but check out on a regular basis and play around with what they are offering. On a side note: to the one star guy that has either some bone to pick or is bashing for some personal reason. I find it incredibly interesting to watch how the people that give the worst reviews, tend to only have one or two others. AS well as the cowardly element of hiding their names. You can click right through to see who I am. I stand by my reviews. All of them. Dont buy in to the load of hot air from some bully that is probably tied in to a competitor or has a grudge, look at the other reviews and take a visit to see for your self. This place is excellent and well worth a visit.

First, beer was good. BUT, the service was the slowest I've ever experienced & because of that we will most likely never go back. We sat down at the bar, it wasn't busy, and even with the bartender basically in front of us, no greeting at all. Finally 10-15 minutes later, he acknowledged us. It took him forever to pour 3 beers & a glass of wine. He was so slow at his job it was comical. 2 groups of 4 came in as we were leaving, I'm wondering if they have ever gotten their first beers yet.

Vero is a lot of things, but a hub for craft brewing, it is not. Thankfully, Orchid Island scratches that itch, and despite being one of the only games in town for a diverse and well-curated selection of craft beer, it's no slouch. If you're sick of slinging yuenglings, give this place a shot. You'll get all the knowledgeable recommendations with none of the snobbery. On their menu, the Salmon Panini came highly recommended by our server, and I understand why. It's unique, light and flavorful, and pairs with just about anything, especially their grapefruit IPA.

Love that they only serve Florida beers, great way to highlight what the sunshine state has to offer. Their own ruby red ipa is pretty amazing-coming from someone who doesn't really care for them in the first place. I do wish their food menu had a bit more to offer but that's my only complaint. Otherwise cool spot with a very friendly staff.

My boyfriend and I love beer and checking out different breweries, so we decided to check out the only brew pub we could find during our stay in Vero Beach. The bartender was very friendly and was very knowledgable about brewing. We chatted about the different styles they had and what breweries we all have visited. They had quite a few beers on tap, but only one they brewed was currently available. The only beer available was the Star Ruby, my boyfriend said it was pretty good (I am not big on hoppy beers so I didn't order it). They had some bluegrass playing over the loudspeaker and outdoor seating with cornhole to enjoy outside. We did not get a chance to try the food, but overall we had a great experience here!

In town nearby and found this place online. Little hard to find but well worth it. Only had 1 IPA on draft and it was very citrusy and terrific. They serve good beers from other breweries also. Decent bar food menu as well.

This spot is pretty cool. Laid back, tons of beer on tap, and a walk away from the beach. It is odd they brew their own beer there but only have one of them on tap. But it's delicious. It's definatly worth checking out.

Great spot in Vero. Cool atmosphere and a great beer selection outside of their own Grapefruit IPA (which is also outstanding). They have an outdoor seating area with a bags setup and music. Bartenders were friendly, attentive, and have a vast knowledge of the beers on tap. Will definitely be back next time we are in Vero.

So good to have a great beer option in Vero, And the food is great too. Love the welcoming atmosphere. As a bit of a foodie, I'd enjoy seeing a few more options on the menu, however the items our group tried were all top notch and I'm sure the chef could pull off some additional items very well. One or two more generic beers on tap could probably convince some of the group I was with to visit often.

The owners are amazing- so warm and friendly. They have a great variety of beers, wines, and ciders. Their IPA is great as well. Super clean and modern on the inside without being stuffy. I will definitely come back here any time I am visiting Vero Beach.

After being away from Vero Beach for a couple of years, I was pleasantly surprised to find a microbrewery had opened up. Orchid Island Brewery is located off of Ocean Drive on Flamevine Lane. While I was there I had the pleasure to meet the amazing owners, Alden and Valarie, their passion and enthusiasm for brewing beers shows. If you're a visitor to Vero Beach, there's nothing more "local" than drinking beers that were inspired by the Indian River Citrus. I highly suggest giving Orchid Island Brewery a visit.

Orichid Island Brewery is just off the main drag on the Vero Waterfront. The brewmaster works the bar and is very easygoing. Its a great looking bar with all types of libations on tap. If you are in the area, you should stop in for a pour of the Star Ruby IPA.

Stoped in for a beer while passing though Vero Beach. They have by far the best beer I've had in Florida since I've been down here. I cannot wait to see what their next Beers going to be. If you're in town you have to stop by Vero Beach to check out Orchid Island brewing Company.

My experience here was terrible. They had 3 house beers and they were out of all of them and also several of their guest taps. The staff was not very attentive (other than one bartender) and seemed to spend most of the night drinking and socializing with one another. I can't speak to the quality of their beers as they didn't have any but am no hurry to ever go back or recommend this place again.
